example, you can create discussion-inducing content that will ensure
long threads of meaningful chatter below your content, or you can create
share-able content that people will want to show to their peers using
social networking buttons. A great example of this type of website is BuzzFeed,
once again. BuzzFeed is dedicated to creating general and news articles
that users can undoubtedly relate to and enjoy. Reddit is also a good
example. The website is operable because of a strong community that
makes it what it is today.
Second, creating your reputation involves becoming an authority
figure on your niche by showing your audience that know your stuff.
Additionally, it doesn’t hurt to get involved with your audience on a
personal level by joining in on discussions with them, creating social
media pages where you can interact with them, and addressing them
directly when talking to them in content. People like websites that are
backed by real people.
Create Videos
You should also focus on creating videos. Videos are among the top
shared content in social networks, and there’s a good reason why. People
like to be entertained. Short YouTube videos that last less than seven
to six minutes are great ways to enhance your content and reach out even
further to your audience.
Think about video content like this. Would you rather read an article
on changing a car battery or actually watch someone do it in a video?
Of course, reading an article is a basic solution for finding out how to
do this. However, it’s easier and quicker to learn how
to change a car battery by watching someone do it because you don’t
have to research terminology, and it’s easier and more clear to locate
where each step takes place as opposed to imagining the process while
reading.
Of course, not every learner will benefit more from watching a clip,
but there’s no denying that video has taken the internet by storm as of
late. Users want to see things in relation to reading them. If it can be
demonstrated with video, it might be better to take that route with
your content.
Go with Lists and Photos for Content Generation

Lastly, when generating content for your website, it’s a good idea to
go with lists and photos for your content. Lists are becoming a popular
format for articles because they address many areas that non-list
articles don’t. List articles
are more simple to read due to being broken up in a numbered format
that allows for easy skimming. Additionally, people like knowing that
they have options; plain and simple. A piece titled, “7 Ways to Save on
Your Electric Bill This Summer” is going to naturally be a lot more
successful than a piece titled, “How to Save on Your Electric Bill” this
summer. How-to guides are useful for processes, but when users want
valuable information on a subject they’re passionate about, they will
take the article with seven solutions over one any day.
Likewise, in the current age of the internet, people like lists and
photo sets. The evidence is everywhere to prove it. Log onto your
favorite content website, and it’s most successful content is likely
going to be pieces with pictures to accompany them.
Photos are pertinent to creating useful content. Photos not only include pictures, but they also encompass graphs, tables, and infographics.
If your content can be expressed using photos, then by all means, take
that route. This is simply because people are more interested in
perusing a list of photos rather than reading paragraph after paragraph
about the same subject. No matter how well written a piece of content
is, users are going to be more interested in photos and pictures if
they’re available.
Overall, your job in earning links rather than having to build them
yourself is to create great content that will keep people engaged and
returning for more down the line. Of course, this might take a bit of
brain-storming on your end, but the time spent planning will never touch
the time you’ll spend building links for content that isn’t all that
interesting. Spend some time analyzing what isn’t already being done and
